Our ministry journey began in Türkiye in 2015, where God led us into new cultures, relationships, challenges, and opportunities to serve.
In 2019, the journey continued in Athens. As we walked alongside refugees, migrants, students, families, and emerging Christian leaders, new ministries gradually took shape through education, discipleship, practical care, churches, and Home Churches.
Over the years, this journey has grown to include Koinonia Education Center, Grace Church Kirikkale, Athens Grace Church, Bible College Europe, and ministry partnerships across cities and nations.
Much of this history has been carefully preserved through detailed journals, photographs, and videos recorded by Kelly Mehee Shin. These records remember not only major events, but also the people we met, the prayers we prayed, the challenges we faced, and the ways God guided us one step at a time.
This is more than an organizational history. It is a story of God’s faithfulness, shared life, growing faith, and people being prepared to serve others.

Each chapter of our journey carries memories of people, places, prayers, challenges, and God’s faithful guidance. Together, these chapters tell the continuing story of a ministry shaped through relationships, discipleship, education, churches, Home Churches, and service.

2015-2018
Our ministry journey began in Türkiye in 2015. During these early years, we learned to serve across cultures, build meaningful relationships, and follow God through unfamiliar places and unexpected opportunities.
THE BEGINNING IN TÜRKİYE

2019-2020
In January 2019, the journey continued in Athens, Greece. As we met refugees, migrants, students, and emerging Christian leaders, God opened new doors for education, discipleship, practical care, and community.
In 2020, Koinonia Education Center began as a place for learning, mentoring, and preparing future Christian leaders.
A NEW BEGINNING IN ATHENS

2021
A K–12 educational program was developed for refugee children, while relationships with students and families continued to grow through teaching, mentoring, practical support, and shared life.
These experiences deepened our understanding that education, discipleship, and compassionate care belong together.
LEARNING, CARE & COMMUNITY

2022-2023
On November 13, 2022, Harpak and Ghazaal began a Home Church in Kırıkkale. With the support of a ministry partner, the fellowship moved into a new worship location and began services there on March 12, 2023.
Athens Grace Church was also established on May 7, 2023, creating another community where believers could worship, grow in faith, and serve together.
HOME CHURCHES & NEW CHURCH COMMUNITIES

2024-2025
Bible College Europe began its first lectures in Athens in August 2024.
Through biblical education, prayer, discipleship, mentoring, and practical ministry training, Persian-speaking students began preparing to serve churches, Home Churches, families, and communities across cultures.
BIBLE COLLEGE EUROPE BEGINS

2026-PRESENT
In January 2026, Koinonia Education Center became Koinonia Ministry, reflecting a broader calling to connect biblical education, churches, Home Churches, refugee ministry, leadership development, and compassionate service.
The journey continues as new leaders are equipped, ministry partnerships grow, and communities of faith take shape across cities and nations.

Since our ministry journey began in Türkiye in 2015, Kelly Mehee Shin has carefully documented the people, places, events, prayers, challenges, and unexpected moments that have shaped our story.
Through detailed writings, photographs, and videos, these records preserve more than dates and activities. They help us remember the relationships we formed, the lessons we learned, and the ways God faithfully guided us through each season.
These archives provide the foundation for Our Ministry Journey and help us share the stories behind the ministries, communities, and people who have walked with us along the way.

Our ministry story is made up of people—each with a name, a journey, a gift, and a place in the story God continues to write.
Some walked with us for a brief season, while others remain part of the journey today. Through every meeting, farewell, friendship, challenge, and shared act of service, God has used people to teach us, strengthen us, and guide the ministry forward.
Refugees, migrants, families, children, and local believers have welcomed us into their lives and helped shape ministries rooted in relationship, dignity, belonging, and shared faith.
